ThriveCart Lifetime Deal and Review

I may earn a small commission for affiliate links in this post at no extra cost to you. Please read my disclaimer  for more information.

So what is ThriveCart exactly?

ThriveCart is a funnel based shopping cart platform most often used for selling digital products like eBooks, eCourses etc. It has high converting checkout pages that maximise profits with up-sells, down-sells and bump offers.

ThriveCart is a hosted shopping cart platform that includes a drag-and-drop sales page builder, so you can even sell on ThriveCart without having a website. If you do have a website, you can simply link from a sales page on your site to a ThriveCart checkout page.

ThriveCart has recently added a complete course platform to its functionality, so besides selling products on ThriveCart, you can now also create and sell courses and memberships.

This is a huge bonus,  because it really makes ThriveCart a one-stop-shop for all your needs.

What can you sell on ThriveCart?

Whether you want to sell courses, digital products, services or a combination of these, you can easily set this up in ThriveCart.

Here’s a list of everything you can sell with ThriveCart:

  • physical products
  • digital products
  • courses
  • memberships
  • coaching programs
  • services

ThriveCart Lifetime Deal

Don’t miss the ThriveCart Lifetime Deal!

For a limited time ThriveCart is available for a one-time payment of $495.

Most shopping cart platforms charge between $39 and $159 per month, so with a one-time fee of $495 you will save big!

This Lifetime Deal includes the new course platform ThriveCart Learn, which will save you even more if you want to create and sell courses.

High converting check out pages

ThriveCart claims to be the “highest converting cart for marketers”, let’s see if this is true…

The average conversion rates for most shopping carts is between 3 and 4 percent. This means that for every customer coming to your cart, 3-4% converts into a sale.

I created a few digital products and set up sales pages with ThriveCart and promoted them to my (tiny) email list. These were my results after a few months:

ThriveCart - High converting checkout pages

I did not get a whole lot of checkout views or orders, but my conversion rate was 4.7% which is above average and pretty good. This was me using the standard cart without any previous experience and not following up with an abandoned cart email sequence or using bump offers as that could’ve potentially increased my sales and conversion rate.

As you can see in this video, there are a lot of ways you can lose out on a sale, but ThriveCart has made it its mission to minimise the chance of someone abandoning their cart and to maximise the sale amount with bump offers and up-sells.

How to setup a ThriveCart product listing

Let’s have a look at how to use ThriveCart to create a product listing.

When you sign up with ThriveCart and login to your account, you’ll see your dashboard. Here you can view your daily sales.

ThriveCart Dashboard

To create a new product, go to the top menu and click on Products.

ThriveCart review

In the next window you’ll see all your products listed and a button to create a new product.

In this window you can also create Upsells, Downsells, A/B tests and Coupons.

When you click on the Create Product button, a pop up appears where you can choose between a digital product or a physical product.

Choose between digital and physical product

Select what type of product you want to create and click the Create new product button.

In the next window you can enter your product name, label and url. This is also the page you need to change your product from test mode to making it live.

ThriveCart product details

Once you’ve filled out your product details, you click on the Next button which will take you to the Pricing settings. Here you can choose your currency and then add your product price.

At the moment the following currencies are available on ThriveCart:

  • USD
  • GBP
  • EUR
  • CAD
  • AUD
  • NZD
  • SEK
  • SGD
  • NOK

  • ILS
  • BRL
  • RUB
  • THB
  • TWD
  • CZK
  • MXN

Another great feature of ThriveCart is that it will automatically calculate your sales tax if you tick the box in this window.

Next you can create a bump offer, add your payment processors and choose if you want to promote this product with affiliates.

After this product setup you need to click on the Fulfillment tab where you can add a support email address and where you tell ThriveCart what should happen after someone purchases this product. You can display their invoice, send them to your product URL or add them to your membership site (which is the course platform ThriveCart Learn.)

After this you need to setup your checkout page by clicking on Checkout in the top menu and selecting your cart type. You can choose between a Standard Cart, a Sales Cart, an Embeddable Cart, and a Popup Cart.

Next you can launch the design editor and customise your checkout page to suit your brand. Here’s what the checkout page editor looks like:

Now there’s one last thing you need to do, which is going to the Behavior tab in the top menu. Here you can create rules so ThriveCart will automatically perform a specific action based on your customer’s behaviour.

With the behaviour rules you can add your customers to a specific group on your mailing list. Here’s a list of behaviours you can create specific actions for:

ThriveCart Alternatives

Before deciding on which shopping cart platform is right for your business, it’s a good idea to compare the different options available. Let’s have a look at some ThriveCart alternatives:

ThriveCart vs SamCart

SamCart is a popular shopping cart platform that’s very similar to ThriveCart. There are a few small differences:

  • SamCart offers more templates for sales pages
  • ThriveCart has better marketing features to boost conversions
  • ThriveCart offers more integrations

SamCart used to beat ThriveCart with its extra functionality for creating membership sites. But since ThriveCart has added its course platform ThriveCart Learn, ThriveCart has become the winner with its affordable Lifetime Deal.

ThriveCart has a one-time fee of $495 and with SamCart you’ll be locked into monthly payments ranging from $39 to $159/month. As you can see, in the long run you’ll save a lot of money with ThriveCart.

ThriveCart vs ClickFunnels

ThriveCart and ClickFunnels are both very similar funnel based shopping carts. ClickFunnels is more focused on creating funnels and ThriveCart is more focussed on high converting checkout pages.

With ClickFunnels you can set one of the following funnel goals:

  • Collect emails
  • Sell products
  • Host webinar

ThriveCart focusses on sales only.

Other differences between ThriveCart and ClickFunnels are:

  1. ClickFunnels has more funnel templates to choose from
  2. ThriveCart is much easier to use
  3. ThriveCart has a build in course platform

ThriveCart has a one-off payment of $495 whereas ClickFunnels is quite pricy starting at $80.84 per month (billed annually) and if you want an affiliate platform it’s $247.50 per month (billed annually).

ThriveCart vs Shopify

ThriveCart is a funnel based checkout for online business owners that sell mostly digital products and/or courses.

Shopify is a shopping cart platform that allows you to create a complete storefront with lots of products. Shopify is a hosted platform that comes with lots of templates to design the “look” of your shop. Shopify is an add-to-cart platform that’s most often used for physical products.

ThriveCart is available for a one-time payment of $495 and Shopify has a Basic plan for $29 USD/mo but most people will require the Shopify plan for $79 USD/mo.

Thrivecart vs Woocommerce

ThriveCart and Woocommerce have some similarities but also a lot of differences.

Here are the major differences between ThriveCart and Woocommerce:

  1. ThriveCart is a funnel based shopping cart platform and Woocommerce is an add-to-cart type platform.
  2. ThriveCart is self hosted and separate from your website and Woocommerce is a WordPress plugin that gets added to your site.
  3. Because ThriveCart is separate from your website it does not slow down your site, but Woocommerce is quite an extensive plugin that will slow down your site.
  4. ThriveCart is very easy to use, whereas Woocommerce is more complicated.
  5. With ThriveCart you can create and sell courses, to create courses with Woocommerce you need to add an LMS plugin to your site.
  6. ThriveCart is available for a one-off fee of $495, Woocommerce is a free plugin, but some integrations will cost something. Woocommerce might be free but it is not as easy to setup as ThriveCart and some people will need a developer to set it up.

I hope these quick comparisons of ThriveCart alternatives have given you a better idea of what other shopping carts are available and how they compare to ThriveCart.

Who is ThriveCart for?

ThriveCart is best for online entrepreneurs and bloggers who sell digital products like eBooks, templates, courses and memberships. If you have a shop with 100’s of physical products, you’d be better off using a platform like Woocommerce or Shopify.
