RelayThat Review – What is RelayThat?
RelayThat is a design automation app that designs layouts for you. From Facebook posts, Pinterest pins and Youtube thumbnails, to Instagram stories, banners, advertisements and more… RelayThat designs a whopping 122 layouts (yes I counted them!) for each template size.
Is RelayThat Good?
Yes, RelayThat is a great design tool and absolutely perfect if your graphic design skills aren’t very good.
Why?
Because RelayThat actually designs the graphics for you. You don’t have to design anything. RelayThat creates layouts and with only a few clicks you can turn these layouts into a completely new graphics.
How does RelayThat Work?
RelayThat allows you to import design elements from your blog or website or you can simply upload your logo and add your brand colours, images and headlines and RelayThat turns these elements into stunning designs.
Sounds too easy?
That’s because it is…
Have a look at the design editor:
The editor is easy to use and very intuitive. On the left you can select photos from the stock photo library or upload your own. To create your graphic, you drag your photo into the layout.
In the top right you add your logo and several photos, below that you add your headline and subtitle, they all have tick boxes so you can choose to show them or not. And at the bottom you can select your colours. On the left you can change and adjust your font colours and line height.
Once you’ve created a design, you simply download it to your computer.
Now the real magic starts!
In the top left is a layouts button.
When you click on this, RelayThat shuffles all your elements and creates another 122 layouts.
To create another graphic, you simply select a layout that you like, tweak it and download it.
It’s that easy!
I just bought RelayThat and in less than 30 minutes I created 17 Pinterest pins.
And this was me using it for the first time!
Imagine how many graphics you could create once you know your way around the editor better.
Here’s some of the designs I created:
I love the variety in designs!
And I love how it’s so much quicker than when I use Illustrator or Canva.
Even though I love Canva and I still use it sometimes, I can’t create as many pins with Canva in the same amount of time. Plus with Canva I have to actually design the graphic…
With RelayThat I can simply choose a design from 122 layouts, tweak it and download it.
Have a look at the video below where I create 8 Pinterest pins in 14 minutes. The first pin takes about 6 minutes because you have to select your photos and add your logo and headlines. After that every new design takes between 20 seconds and 2 minutes, depending on how much you want to change.

RelayThat vs Canva
If you’ve been using Canva to create your social media graphics you probably want to know if investing in RelayThat is worth it for you.
There are some differences between RelayThat and Canva, but they’re both very useful in their own way (which is why I use both). Let’s compare them below.
RelayThat vs Canva
Design
Canva – you have to design your own graphics.
RelayThat – creates designs and layouts for you.
One Click Resize
Canva – only offers this function on the paid plan for $9.95 per month.
RelayThat – Every design you create can be resized into several sizes in one click. These sizes include: Pinterest pins, Facebook posts, banners, Instagram stories, YouTube thumbnails, ads of all sizes and more.
Speed
Canva – designing graphics takes longer (because you have to design them yourself) and you don’t get 122 designs to pick and choose from and you can’t turn a design into a completely new design in one click on the free plan.
RelayThat – after creating your first design you can choose from 122 layouts, select it, tweak it, and you have another design. You can also resize your design in one click. You can literally create 100 graphics in one hour. If you want speed, RelayThat is your BFF!
Purpose
Canva – is great for one-off designs like ebooks, checklists etc, designs with video or gifs and anything that needs more flexibility when designing.
RelayThat – is great for creating lots of social media and advertising content FAST.
RelayThat Pricing
RelayThat has a $15 per month plan for one user and a $25 p/m plan for 2 users.

Thanks for sharing valuable post. This post is very helpful and informative.
As a video producer, I create a lot of content. While it is mostly video content – I can see RelayThat being really helpful for our blog photos and thumbnails which we’ve often used Canva for (also flyers).
Easier to generate variations with Relaythat than Canva – saves time.
Just haven’t used it that much yet but I will now!

I am curious if they’ll add GIF support in the future as it seems so much of IG / Youtube stories / FB stories / every platform now could use this same tool but with a little motion in the graphics. Even just the text sliding in from the side… Would be cool.
Yes gif support would be cool and slightly longer pins too!
RelayThat sounds really awesome and would love to buy it too, but does it have a function like Canva, wherein you can share the design or editable template with others?
Hi Clyde, do you mean for reselling Pinterest templates purposes? No it doesn’t have this function, mainly because it doesn’t need it. RelayThat designs the templates for you so you can’t really resell them. Once someone has a RelayThat membership they can easily create their own pins without needing templates from somewhere else. If you want to work on a project as a team however, this is possible but I think you have to upgrade.
Wow! What a time saver compared to Canva. I really need to try this 🙂 Thanks! X
Yes it’s so quick and easy, I highly recommend it!
Great resource. Thank you so much!
There are so many tools out there that it’s hard to know which ones are good. Thanks for this super helpful walkthrough. I may just have to grab this before the lifetime deal runs out!
Yes, this tool is definitely amazing, and the deal is a no-brainer!
Wow! I’m definitely going to check this out! I’ve been using canva, but this seems like such a time saver!
Yes, it’s definitely quicker than Canva and I love how you can resize it in one click (you need the paid version of Canva for that).
Wow! I never heard of this before. Even from your images, I really like some of the stuff I see. Is everything free once you pay the fee? Also, is there a time limit on this deal? Thanks for sharing!
Hi Amanda, yes everything is free once you pay the one-off fee, that’s why I think this is such a great deal. I’m not sure what the time limit is on this deal… I think the promotion runs out at some point, but I’m not sure.
I have never heard of this before. I will definitely have to check this out for future marketing efforts.
Yes, it’s definitely a time saver, I highly recommend it!
Wow, it sounds too good to be true. I can imagine this would be helpful and if you are using a method to help you send off these pins. With my niche, I haven’t been able to find many terrific stock photos to use.
Hi Joyce, is your niche gardening? I just checked RelayThat’s stock photo library and they have tons of gardening photos!
I have heard a lot about relay that and I intend to purchase as soon as I can afford it. Thanks for sharing
You won’t regret that investment Nana, but don’t leave it too long ’cause I don’t know how long this deal will last.
