ConvertBox Review – What is Convertbox?
ConvertBox is a website conversion and user engagement tool that uses little pop up boxes to personalise the user experience with highly targeted messages and offers. You can use ConvertBox to guide your audience through your website, build a connection, and make them feel welcome and valued.
Did you know that about 95% of your hard earned website visitors, leave without taking any action? I know… kinda depressing right?
But you can change this with ConvertBox.
By setting up the right messages, optin forms or offers, you can turn more visitors into subscribers and increase engagement and sales.
The video below explains it in a bit more detail.
But hang on, aren’t pop ups annoying?
In some cases, yes, pop ups can be very annoying. Especially if they appear as soon as you arrive on a website or if you can’t find a way to close it… for sure.
But ConvertBox’s pop ups are different.
- First of all they are small and less obtrusive than your average pop up box.
- Secondly they are highly customisable and can be designed to completely blend in with your brand.
- Thirdly you can choose exactly when it pops up and choose which audience will see it and what page it appears on. So not everyone will see your pop up, only the right people.
Because you can make your Convert Boxes highly targeted, you are less likely to annoy your website visitors and more likely to convert the people that DO see it.
What can you use ConvertBox for?
You can use ConvertBox to engage with your website visitors in many different ways.
Let’s have a look at some of the best ways to use ConvertBox with these examples:
1. Welcome Site Visitors
ConvertBox targeting rules allow you to target first time visitors and welcome them to your site. You can even create a welcome video to personalise the experience and build a connection.
2. Slide-in Optin Freebie
A great way to increase your email signups is by using a slide-in form and offer an optin freebie or lead magnet.
Slide-ins are less obtrusive than full page pop-ups as they don’t block all your content. This makes them more approachable and your visitors are more likely to interact with them.
With ConvertBox targeting rules you can make your free offer highly relevant to the page content and your site visitor, resulting in higher conversion rates.
3. Email List Segmentation
Use the multi step pop-up to ask your site visitor questions regarding their level of experience or topics of interest. By selecting their preferences, your audience will be guided through your segmentation funnel which is connected to your email marketing groups.
4. Limited Time Offer
ConvertBox is the perfect tool to promote a limited time offer. You can choose when it appears on the page, which pages it will appear on and who will see it. You can set the dates on which this limited time offer is available and you can add a countdown timer to let your audience know when your offer runs out to add urgency and increase sales.
5. Affiliate Bonus
Boost your affiliate sales by creating a bonus product or service that is related to the affiliate product you’re promoting. Use ConvertBox to promote your bonus offer and link it to a separate sales page where you give all the details about your bonus offer and how to claim it.
I’ve used this technique myself and it has greatly increased my affiliate sales.
6. Sticky Bar Offers & Announcements
ConvertBox sticky bars appear prominently at the top of the page, making them perfect for site wide announcements and limited time offers.
To make it easy for you, ConvertBox has already made some genius sticky bar templates for:
- Special Offer
- Limited Time Offer
- Yes/No Offer
- Lead Generation
- List Segmentation
7. Exit Intent Popups
Is someone leaving your site? Grab their attention with an enticing offer or lead magnet with a full page overlay popup for maximum impact.
8. Cart Abandonment Popup
ConvertBox seamlessly integrates with shopping cart platforms and can be used to reduce cart abandonment. A well timed pop-up could offer a bonus or offer more information about the product, making your customer more confident about their purchase and increasing your sales.
9. Ask your students for feedback about your course
Want to know what your students think about your online course? Create a multi step popup and ask them a few simple Yes or No questions. You can even offer them a discount on any of your other courses as an incentive. This will create a win-win-win situation where you get feedback from your students, they get a discount on another course and you make more money if they buy another course!
And if these ideas weren’t enough… here’s a few more ways you can use ConvertBox:
- Ask them to join your Facebook group
- Offer discount codes or coupons
- Guide your website visitor around your site
- Promote an affiliate product
- Create a quiz
- Promote a webinar or event
- Offer a loyalty program
- Promote your business app or offer a free download
- Take customer surveys
- Ask for testimonials
I’m pretty sure there are many more uses, you can get as creative as you want with it.

And if you can’t find the answer to one of your question, you can email their outstanding support team for help. I’ve done this several times myself and they were very helpful.
To give you a bit of an idea how easy ConvertBox is to use, I’ve created a quick get started tutorial…
Convertbox tutorial
Creating your first ConvertBox is quick and easy (even for non-tech people).
Let’s have look with this ConvertBox Tutorial…
1. Create your ConvertBox account
Sign up to ConvertBox to create your account.
2. Connect ConvertBox to your website
Follow the instructions to connect ConvertBox to your website. If you use WordPress, you can simply install a plugin and paste in a string of numbers.
3. Connect your email provider
Select your email provider from the list and add your API key. You can find your API key in your email provider’s settings under integrations.
4. Create your first ConvertBox
Click on Dashboard in the top menu and click on the green box: + New ConvertBox.
5. Name your ConvertBox and create a group for it
6. Select the type of ConvertBox you want to create
You can choose to have an embedded ConvertBox or a pop-up overlay.
With the overlay ConvertBox you can choose from 4 different options:
- Sticky Bar
- Callout Modal
- Center Modal
- Full Page
Select what you prefer, for this tutorial I’m going to create a Callout Modal pop-up.
7. Select a template
ConvertBox has several ready made templates available to make it easier for you to get started.
There are templates for:
- Lead generation
- List segmentation
- Video message
- Limited time offer
- and more
8. Customise your template
Your chosen template will open up in the ConvertBox editor. To edit your ConvertBox you simply click on the element you want to edit and options will appear in the left menu. It is a drag-and-drop editor so if you want to add something to your ConvertBox, you can drag new elements over from the left menu.
You can also create ConvertBoxes with multiple steps (for segmenting your email list for example) with the Steps button on the top left.
And you can create A/B tests with the button in the top right.
(Please see detailed tutorials for these functions in the ConvertBox support area.)
9. Set your display triggers
Once you’re happy with your ConvertBox design and content, you need to configure your display settings > top menu > Display.
Here you can choose after how many seconds your ConvertBox pops up, how often each visitor will see your ConvertBox, and which pages or blog posts it appears on.
10. Target specific visitors
In the targeting section you can choose to target all your site visitors or specific visitors.
If you target specific visitors you’ll have to add conditional rules, you can select from the following rules (see image below).
11. Launch your ConvertBox
Now your ConvertBox is ready for launch!
Give it a name, switch the Status button to ACTIVE or schedule a start and end date if it’s a limited time offer.
This was my quick overview on how to use ConvertBox. As you can see it’s super easy to set up and within 10 minutes you can have your first ConvertBox ready for launch.

Are there any Convertbox alternatives?
There are a few alternatives to ConvertBox that offer pretty much the same functionality.
OptinMonster is a pretty close ConvertBox alternative that you might’ve heard of.
As the name suggests, OptinMonster’s main focus is growing your email list, but they also have the functionality to reduce page abandonment, create personalised messages and increase sales with special offers.
Another ConvertBox alternative is Poptin. This website engagement tool offers loads of different types of Poptins like slide-ins, top and bottom bars, messenger button and lots more.
Although OptinMonster and Poptin have mostly the same functionality as ConvertBox, the main point of difference between these website conversion tools is: The Price.
OptinMonster and Poptin don’t offer a lifetime deal and you’ll be stuck paying monthly fees into eternity…
The monthly plans that have similar functionality as the ConvertBox Lifetime Account start at $49 per month.
Let’s do the quick math here: $49 x 12 months = $588 per year.
You’d be paying more in one year than the ConvertBox Lifetime Deal, plus you’d be paying this EVERY year after that!
Having no ongoing monthly payments really makes the ConvertBox Lifetime Deal a no-brainer and a must-have investment for any online business.
But don’t wait too long because this ConvertBox Lifetime Deal can disappear at anytime! It is a limited time introduction offer and when they decide it’s finished, it will be finished for good.
So don’t miss out on this amazing offer and…

Does ConvertBox have an affiliate program?
Yes ConvertBox has an affiliate program! So if your audience wants to create more engagement on their website, you can sign up to the ConvertBox affiliate program once you own ConvertBox.
Convertbox review conclusion
ConvertBox is a pretty impressive conversion tool with endless possibilities.
There is no other tool like it, in regards to functionality & lifetime account for a one-time fee.
I think it’s the perfect tool for connecting with your site visitors and creating more engagement, signups and sales!
I hope you liked my ConvertBox review and if you have any questions, make sure to ask me in the comments below.
